Itinerary Summary

    Day 1 – Arrival in Japan

    After being welcomed by our private, English-speaking guide, you will travel to your accommodation in Sapporo by private vehicle. Settle in, adjust to your new environment and get ready for your upcoming adventures.

    Day 2 – Sapporo Sightseeing

    Today is your first full day visiting Sapporo. Start your day with a walking tour of the Odori Park. Visit the Clock Tower, a symbol of the city, which serves as a museum with displays about the building’s history and Sapporo. Continue to the Curb Market, consisting of nearly 80 stores and restaurants lined up along several blocks. You will enjoy making your own cookies at White Lover Chocolate Factory.

    After lunch, head to Moerenuma Park. Designed by Japanese-American Sculptor Isamu Noguchi, shaped like a green loop, the park  provides a fascinating combination of art, architecture and nature.

    If you love beer, Hokkaido is the birthplace of beer in Japan. Sapporo Beer  is one of the oldest and most popular beer brands in the country. Relax and finish your day with a Sapporo beer!

    Day 3 – Otaru Sightseeing

    Today you will start a full day tour to Otaru City by private vehicle. With its many historical buildings, Otaru is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Japan. First you will visit Otaru Canal which was a central part of the city’s busy port in the first half of the 20th century. If you love Japanese Sake, then you’ll enjoy the stop at Tanaka Brewery, the only sake brewery in Otaru for Japanese Sake tasting. Buy one bottle of Tanaka Sake for your stay. Continue to the Music Box Museum consisting of multiple buildings scattered around the southern end of Sakaimachi Street, one of which houses a small museum about music boxes. Before leaving Otaru, we will make a short visit to the Glass Museum. When the herring fishing industry declined in the 1950s, the makers of glass buoys shifted to the production of refined glassware. Nowadays, Otaru benefits greatly from the reputation of its glassware, attracting many tourists to its glass shops. On the way back to Sapporo, let’s stop by Mt. Moiwa and enjoy the spectacular view over the city from an observation deck after sunset.

    Day 4 – Asahikawa-Mt. Daisetsu (zan) Sightseeing

    In the morning, we will head out to Daisetsuzan National Park via Asahikawa city (by private car). Located in the center of Hokkaido, Asahikawa is the island’s second largest city after Sapporo. There, you will find a ”Ramen Village” with 8 original Ramen restaurants. How many ramen bowls can you eat? Find and enjoy your favorite Ramen here! After your lunch, head to Daisetsuzan National Park which is Hokkaido’s largest national park. Enjoy the ropeway ride and marvel over a preserved mountainous area of virtually unspoiled wilderness. Drive to Sounkyo Onsen for the night.

    Day 5 – Photogenic Biei – Furano Sightseeing

    After breakfast, your photogenic day will start in Biei. Famous for its rolling hills and agricultural fields under the shadows of Taisetsu, Biei has long been known for its beautiful rural scenery including the 6 unique trees in Biei, Seven Stars Trees, Ken and Mary’s Tree, and more. Your vehicle then takes you to ‘The Roller Coaster road’, a 4-km stretch of straight road characterized by its abruptly climbing and descending slopes. Then traverse ‘Patchwork road’, a 14km road winding through some of the most touristic areas in Biei. It derives its name from the patchwork appearance of several square crop fields of different colors. The road has several iconic viewing spots, highlighted by the ‘Blue Pond’. In the evening, your day will end at the hotel in Furano.

    Day 6 – Furano sightseeing

    In the morning, start with a tour of Furano city’s must-see highlights. Begin with Furano Jam Garden offering almost 40 kinds of exclusive handmade jams. At the Furano Cheese Factory, you can observe the production process of the local camembert  cheese and then sample the cheese in the factory shop. And what goes with cheese – of course wine! Local wine has been produced in Furano since 1972. Located on a hill overlooking the town, the Furano Winery is open to the public. Enjoy a free wine tasting.

    Owing to its romantic beauty, the Ningle Terrace in Furano is a favorite spot for TV drama producers. There is a shop selling merchandise from the various TV dramas produced in and around the Ningle Terrace.

    After sightseeing in Furano, return to your  hotel and enjoy the evening at your leisure

    Day 7 – Transfer to Sapporo+ Free time

    After breakfast, transfer back to Sapporo. Before arriving at your hotel, stop by Sapporo’s Hitsujigaoka Observation Hill, which was constructed in 1959 as part of Hokkaido’s agricultural testing grounds. The statue of Dr. Clark, a notable official in Sapporo’s history, is a popular tourist spot. On top of the hill, you can see the city of Sapporo, the Ishikari plain, and sheep grazing on surrounding pastures.

    After arriving at the hotel, enjoy your free time in Sapporo.

    Day 8 – Transfer to Shin-Chitose Airport

    After breakfast, meet your guide and driver at the hotel and transfer to Shin-Chitose Airport for your departure.
